Gala Doubles Competition

THE GALA COMPETITION HAS NOW CONCLUDED. THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS.

How it works:

  • The teams are composed of one member of the public and one NPC member. The draw was made at the piste on Fri 2nd June, and the pairings are shown below.
  • There is a £2 per player entry fee into the competition, and teams must register with the admin team at the piste, on Sun 4th June between 10am and 10:20am.
  • The format for the competition will follow the SPA timed rules (section 9), but with the exception of timed game play, which will be 30 minutes, plus one end.
  • There are 4 groups, and each team will play 4 games. The top 2 teams from each group will go through to the knock-out stages, starting with the quarter-finals.
  • The winners of these matches will then have to wait until Thursday 8th, to play their semi-final matches, and the possibility of reaching the finals..!

Congratulations to Ross Anderson & Brian McCathie, winners of the competition. Kelly Drummond & Mary Thomson claimed 2nd place, 3rd were Lindsay Birrell & Norrie Wilson, and Clare Walker & Ken Purvis came 4th.

Our thanks to all those who took part in the competition. We raised a total of £86, which we will donate to the Gala fund.

A special mention to Lyn Ross, for making the ‘medals’ for our winners and runners-up!
