The Club Doubles Championship has kicked-off today. The fixture list has been announced, and we now get down to the nitty-gritty stuff, quite literally!

The presentation of the Club Triples Championship was made tonight, after the very last fixture had taken place (Newbies 10 - 8 ABB).

The Gala finals were well attended, with our 8 teams of competitors facing-off in the (delayed from Sunday) quarter-finals, with Lindsay, Kelly, Clare and Ross making it through to the semi-finals.

Just a quick reminder to all NPC members, that Scottish Petanque coach Malcolm McKenzie will be visiting us this Saturday, 3rd June from 1pm until about 3pm, for some top class coaching - don’t miss it!

Well… it’s nearly the weekend of our Gala competition. The registration window has closed, and we’ve had 20 members of the public sign up to take part in the competition.

Congratulations to the Ladies and Gentlemen of NPC who took part in the SPA Womens and Mens Singles Competiton held at Inverleith Petanque Club at the weekend.

Today saw the SPA ‘Introduction to Competition’ course held at Newtongrange Petanque piste. A good turn out saw about 30 members of NPC take part in the training, aimed at members who haven’t played in National-level competitions before, so that they can become familiar with what is expected, and can ask questions, etc.

The Born To Play competition saw eight teams, from several Petanque clubs throughout the Lothians, battle it out at the Newtongrange Petanque piste in Welfare Park, on Sunday 7th May.

Several teams from NPC went down to Moffat to compete in their Open competition at the weekend. The weather was not as forecast - lots of sunshine, and no rain - which is what we’d all prepared for!

Scottish Petanque coach Malcolm McKenzie will be visiting us on Saturday 3rd June, for some coaching which will begin after 1pm.

REMINDER: Don’t forget to get your notes of interest in by Friday 5th May @ 17:00, if you wish to be considered as part of the team for the above competition.

Congratulations to the 2 NPC teams who made it into the top 8 teams for the Home Nations competition. They will represent Scotland in the main competition at Whitnash Petanque club, Leamington Spa in August this year.
