SPA ‘Introduction to Competition’ course

Schedule confirmed for: Sunday 14th May, 10.30am - 3.30pm.

The course will be aimed at members who haven’t played in National-level competitions before, so that they can become familiar with what is expected, and can ask questions, etc.

Members of the Scottish Petanque Association will be in attendance to deliver the course. Some local coaches will be on hand to help out, and to continue to build on the key messages going forward.

It will be interactive and look at a mix of rules, etiquette, tactics, using a 4th player, etc. If there is an umpire available for the afternoon session, then they will come along and umpire a round or two of games, so everyone has the experience of ‘having the umpire’s eye on you’.

The current thoughts are to hold it at Newtongrange Petanque Piste as we have the largest number of new licence holders, but to invite members of other clubs that are local to us - with priority being given to those who are new licence holders.
